This week was a pivotal week in terms of my work progress and ethic, I done so much this week and felt good when doing so.

At the beginning of the week, we had our "Our Space" project which had to be completed by the 27th of February. It required us as a collective in our tutor groups, to create a body or piece of work to transform our seminar room into something more than just a white cubed room. The theme was loose and could be anything. We decided to do a group drawing based around a set of questions from things like favourite childhood toy to how we were feeling at the current moment. I think it was really effective in bringing everyone together and we had our first official collaboration together which was amazing, it was so great to see everyones own style come through in the drawing and the conversations we had whilst completing the drawing. I think it has made our group stronger and we know each other a little better now compared to when we first met, as not many of us knew each other. It was kinda stressful overall as I felt like I was left to do certain things as it felt as if - if I leave it up to someone else, who else will do it? In the end it was completed as a group and we each could say we were proud of what we had created!

Tuesday saw me begin etching after I was dying to try it out, I really love the technique and dis

covered a new technique called "marbling" I love the texture and marks you can get form it, but I need to somewhat master etching first! My plate sort of to ruined due to the weak ground but the textures on the surface were incredible, I wish I had preserved them for future use. I love the line and marks etching provides my work and I would like to try it on different surfaces such as textiles to see if I would get the same or varying results! In the future I would love to try marble etching and create unique and distinct shapes and lines to filter back into my work. I could see marble etching and etching on quite a large scale for the background of my work or intertwined layers of paint and drawing. I have ideas swirling inside my mind of what I would like to do and how to achieve it the best way possible.

Recently, I felt like doing some extra work and decided to create a series of acetone and mono prints for the upcoming Cabbin Baggage exhibition down in Birmingham, with collaboration between Birmingham City University and Norwich University of the Arts. The prints turned out really well and I love the marks from the ink and image transfer. I would like to continue with this area of work and create little artists books of peculiar scraps I keep solely based on the marks or colours on the pieces of paper.

I had a breakthrough with my work on Friday, I finally got fully back into the swing of things and I was happy with where my work had head. I decided to look back into installation and continue on with similar ideas like last semester , but amplify them and bring them to a higher and more refined standard. I was inspired by "Cloud Installation" by Mason Studio and Ruri's projection and installation works - in particular "Water Vocal Endangered" and "Glassrain" . their work has really helped ground my work and ways in which I can express my thoughts and ideas. I love how they combine the natural world and the material world as one to create atmospheric installations that are almost otherworldly. I can see my work focusing more on the ephemeral and idea of fleeting time and memory more. I feel as if I have found my voice and have grounded not only my work - but myself.

I began experimenting with plastic transparent sheets, as the paint and other solid liquid mediums adhere to it better and allow for me to build upon on textures and mark more freely. Also, I love the ghostly quality of the material and the shadow it creates and projects onto other surfaces. I'm gonna get more textile fabrics to work with and experiment with form and shape more to create 3D forms to then project video and image onto to enhance the themes of uncertainty with time, places and memory. Painting still plays a huge part in my work and I plan on incorporating my painting into my installation work as they're mutually inclusive in terms of theme and idea. the aesthetic of my work is beginning to take shape despite myself not putting too much pressure on the way certain things look.
